Estate Administration

“Estate Administration” refers to the process of distributing the assets and property of someone who has passed away, and is one of the core areas of legal services offered at Davidson-Stiles Law Office. In many, but not all cases, the estate administration process requires an application to the court. An estate representative (sometimes referred to as an executor) will often need to make this application to deal with banks and other institutions to properly undertake their duties. Making the application is a primary aspect of the services provided by the lawyer on an estate matter. We also provide advice, assistance, and services to you on a variety of other legal issues that may arise throughout the process.

As estate matters can be very different from one another, our approach is to meet with you and get all of the pertinent facts around the passing of your friend or loved one, and work with you to develop a strategy to properly administer their estate. We understand that this is normally an emotional, difficult time for clients, so we’re here to help you through with as little hassle as possible. This is one area of services where fees can vary quite a bit, depending upon the complexity of the matter, but we’ll do our best to give you a good idea of what the cost will be at the outset.

If you have any questions regarding the estate of a friend or loved one who has passed, please feel free to call our office to learn more and allow us to help.
